LFA Lexus Successor Performs For The First Time At The Goodwood Festival Of Speed, Produced At The End Of 2026

JAKARTA - The puzzle about the presence of the Lexus supercar has finally begun to be answered. The car was officially introduced to the public for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 which took place this week.

This V8-engined supercar called GT Concept was introduced with GT3 GR on British soil, a homologated racing car to be included in the future GT3 regulatory competition.

In Autocar's report, Friday, July 11, the car is likely to use a emblem from Lexus, not a Toyota. Of course this will add to the long history of the manufacturer in presenting high-performance cars such as LFA, LC 500, and RC F.

Although it is still not officially confirmed, it is estimated that this car will be a preview version of LFA's successor and has the potential to have an LFR naming.

The production version of GT Concept will be present in the market at the end of 2026, in order to follow the homologation of the FIA which requires GT3 racing cars to share basic body designs with related highway cars.

Thus, Lexus will follow in the footsteps of Aston Martin, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche in selling GT3 cars to several racing teams.

Specifications from GT Concept have not yet been released, but it is estimated that it will produce around 500-600 hp of power with a weight of no more than 1,300 kg. This car has the potential to use a hybrid system, so it will record an estimated 700 hp of power.

The performance of the car comes from a V8 machine that has been rumored previously and combined it with electric driving. The presence of this model is also in line with Toyota Motor Corporation's strategy globally, namely multi-pathway where the company provides environmentally friendly vehicles from various drivers including BEV, PHEV, HEV, to FCEV.

The presence of the model will be a breath of fresh air for automotive lovers around the world after Lexus decided to stop production from RC and LC coupe.
