Haven't Found 20 Victims, KMP Tunu Pratama SAR Operation Extended
BANYUWANGI - Deputy for Search and Rescue Operations for Basarnas Preparedness and Rescue, Ribut Eko Suyanto, said that the search and rescue operation (SAR) for the victims of the sinking ship KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya would again be proposed to be extended.
Previously, the joint SAR team had extended search and rescue operations from Wednesday (9/7) to Friday (11/7) tomorrow due to humanitarian considerations and many victims have not been found.
"After seven days we have extended it, and we also see the atmosphere of the victim's family and we ourselves are publicizing and being present here, we are all human beings with integrity to our society and country," said Eko, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 11.
Apart from humanitarian considerations, he continued, SAR operations will be proposed again to be extended to their superiors because there are still 20 victims who have not been found.
"Of course the government will not remain silent, and we from the SAR organization will convey it to the leadership, hopefully it can be extended and tomorrow we will announce it," said Eko.
