The U-23 Indonesian National Team Did Not Undergo Trials For Preparation For The 2025 AFF Cup
JAKARTA The U-23 Indonesian National Team (Timnas) coach, Gerald Vanenburg, has confirmed that his squad will not undergo a trial match in preparation for the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup next week.
The Garuda Muda troops will fight in the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup on 15-29 July 2025. The tournament will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, and Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi.
Gerarld said that he only focused on internal team preparations and refused to hold a trial match in order to maintain the fitness of his players.
"We can play 11 against 11 with our own players. So, we can overcome injury problems."

"If they play against other teams, they can play hard and our players can get injured," he said.
Gerald's squad is currently inhabited by only 25 players after three of them were crossed out. The final squad to face the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup has not yet been determined by the Dutch tactician.
Gerlad faces this age group tournament with high optimism. He promised his foster children would perform optimally in public.
"Every game is a tournament that must be won. I never went to a tournament and thought we would lose. We will prepare everything," he said.
Indonesia occupies Group A with Malaysia, the Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam. The Garuda Muda squad will start their journey against Brunei on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
The clash will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK). This match will start at 20.00 WIB.
