Not Just Judol, Hundreds Of NIK Recipients Of Social Assistance Involved In Corruption To Terrorism

JAKARTA - Head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) Ivan Yustiavandana revealed that hundreds of population identification numbers (NIK) registered as recipients of social assistance (bansos) were involved in corruption (tipikor) to terrorism financing.

"It turns out that there is also a NIK related to criminal acts of corruption, some even financing terrorism. More than 100 of the NIKs have been identified as involved in financing terrorism activities," Ivan said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 10.

"It is related to corruption, it is related to narcotics, it is related to terrorism financing," he continued.

This was conveyed in response to the findings of 571,410 NIKs registered as recipients of social assistance being involved as online gambling players (judol) throughout 2024.

"So we match the NIK, it turns out that there is indeed a NIK who receives social assistance which is also a judol player, yes, that's 500 thousand," he said.

He said the findings of social assistance funds that were misused for criminal acts of corruption, terrorism financing, and judol transactions were obtained by his party after matching the NIK data of social assistance recipients in a state-owned bank.

"NIK Bansos, which we received from the Minister of Social Affairs (Minister of Social Affairs), we matched it with what NIK, related to judol, that's all. Judol, corruption and financing terrorism," he said.

However, Ivan was reluctant to reveal the name of the state-owned bank in question. He only emphasized that the deposit from the judol transaction in one of the banks reached more than Rp900 billion.

He also said that there are still several other banks whose party will match the NIK data on social assistance recipients with the alleged flow of judol transaction funds.

"There are still four more banks," he said.

Previously, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) found 571,410 population identification numbers (NIK) registered as recipients of social assistance (bansos), involved as online gambling players (judol) throughout 2024.

Total online gambling deposits from 571,410 NIK recipients of social assistance during 2024 reached Rp957 billion with 7.5 million transactions.

According to the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, the government will revoke the provision of social assistance for social assistance recipients who are proven to use it to play judol.

"Later we will trace the data, we will check the data. If there is social assistance used for judol, we will stop social assistance," said Muhaimin.

According to him, sanctions in the form of revocation of social assistance will still be carried out, even though the recipients of the social assistance are categorized as poor and extreme poor.
