Linda Yacarino Withdraws From X, CEO Position Now Empty
JAKARTA Linda Yaccarino decided to stop being CEO X, a platform that used to be known as Twitter. The news of Yaccarino's resignation from this position was revealed on social media on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
"After two incredible years, I decided to step down as CEO X," Yaccarino wrote. "I am very grateful to him (Elon Musk) for entrusting me with the responsibility to ... turn X into an app everything."
In the post, Yaccarino also reflected on his time while working at X. Yaccarino said he was proud because the entire team on the platform managed to protect users' free speech to change many things from the company.
"I am very proud of the X team - the change in the historic business that we have achieved together is extraordinary," Yaccarino added. The former CEO X also mentioned their efforts to restore the confidence of advertisers.
Since 2023, X's revenue has reportedly continued to decline. This is driven by several factors, ranging from content moderation policies that changed under Elon Musk's leadership to antisemitism advertising issues.
The problem caused many advertisers to leave platform X and switch to other social media platforms for advertising. However, over time, the number of X ad revenues has finally increased.

It is not known what caused Yaccarino to leave X. The circulating report states that Linda had planned her departure before the Grok response controversy, the xAI chatbot, which is integrated with platform X.
Until now, there has been no news about who will replace Yaccarino as CEO. He also has not disclosed his next career plans.
