Legitimate! Rimac Nevera R Becomes The World's Fastest Electric Car, Break 24 Records At Once!

JAKARTA Rimac Nevera R is the most extreme version of the Rimac electric hypercar, now officially holds the title of the fastest electric car in the world. At a peak speed of 268.2 mph (about 431.6 km/h), Nevera R not only outperforms its predecessor, but also exceeds the Bugatti Veyron Supersport record.

This shock achievement is not just a claim. This speed has been independently verified in the final test series before the unit was sent to consumers. Not stopping there, Nevera R also successfully broke 24 world records in the performance category collaps all records previously held by the standard version of Nevera.

One of the most striking records is the brutal acceleration of 060 mph (096 km/h) in just 1.66 seconds, making it the fastest-acceleration production car on the planet! That's 0.08 seconds faster than the standard Nevera. Meanwhile, the 04000 km/h (02490 mph) record was completed in just 25.79 seconds, two seconds faster than the previous record holder. In fact, a quarter-mile sprint was successfully bulldozed in just 7.9 seconds, explained the ino significant improvement compared to the previous version.

"When we first introduced Nevera, we felt that we had reached the hypercar performance limit. But apparently, through continuous innovation, Nevera R was able to go faster, without sacrificing comfort and practicality which made it suitable for daily use," said Rimac founder and CEO Automobile Mate Rimac, quoted from Autocar, Thursday, July 10.

He asserted, 'breaking records is our DNA' and we haven't finished yet.'

However, behind the excitement of Nevera R, an interesting signal emerged about the future direction of Rimac. Despite pushing technology boundaries, Mate Rimac hinted that the next Rimac car could not be fully electric.

In his statement last May, he said that the narrative about electric cars began to experience saturation. According to him, many consumers now feel 'leaning' with an approach that is too forcing electrification.

When we started developing Nevera in 2016, we were sure EVs would be a big trend. But in reality, the premium electric car market has actually declined. Many people are starting to miss a more analogous and emotional driving experience," he said.

He even compared it to digital technology, 'Apple Watch can do thousands of things better than a mechanical watch. But no one wants to pay 200,000 US dollars for Apple Watch. That means? Rimac may be ready to explore new technologies, including non-electricity, if that's the most exciting and desired of the market.
