Pramono Offers Bekasi-Tangerang Pump Assistance Overcoming Floods

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung offers assistance to buffer areas, especially Bekasi and Tangerang in the form of pumps to deal with flooding in their respective areas.

The offer has also been submitted to Banten Governor Andra Soni and Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto.

This was conveyed by Pramono in a coordination meeting on corruption prevention held by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) with a number of governors.

"I imagine in other areas, and I have also conveyed it to Mr. Andra Soni, to the mayor of Bekasi, if indeed then friends in Banten and Tangerang need (providing pumps) of course we are ready to help with that," said Pramono in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, Thursday, July 10.

Jakarta, continued Pramono, until now still has to deal with the problem of flooding. A few days ago, hundreds of RTs in Jakarta were flooded up to two meters. The worst flood point was in settlements around the river.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that this flood was not only caused by high rainfall in Jakarta, but also high tides and water shipments from upstream.

"I'm sure the governors also experienced it. When floods in Jakarta 3-4 days ago, the floods had never occurred at the same time. Rainfall in Jakarta is high, although 150, shipments from above are high, the sea water is rising," said Pramono.

At that time, Pramono claimed to continue to monitor flood management intensively and in detail. All mobile and stationary pumps were operated to drain flooding from residential areas.

"Alhamdulillah, the next day Jakarta was practical, the infrastructure was ready, the pumps were almost a thousand more, 600 were stationary, another 600 were mobile, so they could be handled," he explained.
