UEFA Rejects Real Madrid's Appeal Against Mbappe, Rudiger, And Ceballos Fines

JAKARTA - UEFA has rejected Real Madrid's appeal to overturn disciplinary sanctions imposed on Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, and Dani Ceballos for inappropriate behavior.

Rudiger, Mbappe, and Ceballos were fined 40,000 euros, 30,000 euros, and 20,000 euros respectively by UEFA for violating basic rules of behavior appropriate during Real Madrid's win over Atletico Madrid on penalties for the last 16 of the Champions League on 12 March 2025.

Rudiger and Mbappe were also sentenced to a one-match ban, which only applies if they commit repeated violations.

The UEFA appeal agency stated that there was no reason to cancel the disciplinary action issued on April 4, 2025 by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Agency.

UEFA has opened an investigation after Rudiger was caught on camera slitting his throat at Atletico Madrid supporters, while Mbappe held his groin during his team celebrations.

Ceballos was found guilty of violating basic rules of appropriate behavior after provoking supporters at the Metropolitano stadium.
