Jakarta - Chairman of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Marciano Norman, officially opened the 4th Indonesia Open Gymnastics 2025 on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Raden Inten Gymnast Building, Jakarta.
Seeing the large number of young athlete participants, and the increasing number every year, the Head of the Central KONI believes that Indonesia's technical achievements will be brilliant in its participation in international singles/multievents.
"I am proud to see athletes who come from 15 provinces and 90 clubs who are present at the very important 4th Indonesia Open Gymnastics 2025," he said.
Gimnastic or gymnastics is a strategic mother of sports in multievents because it competes in many disciplines and numbers.
If many Indonesian athletes excel from the sport of the game, Indonesia's ranking will be significantly affected.
"Medali is contested in the sport of gameastics or gymnastics very much. We can imagine, with good coaching and many outstanding gameastic athletes, Indonesia's ranking in the Olympics can increase dramatically," said Marciano, who targets at least one gymnastics gold medal at the Olympics. future.

Most importantly, the Head of the Central KONI expressed his gratitude to the parents of the athletes who provided support to their children.
"Thank you to parents who allow their children to participate in the championship," said the Head of the Central KONI.
Josephine Tampubolon who represents the President of NOC Indonesia reminded athletes to try hard to achieve achievements.

Previously, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Gamenastic Federation (PB Persani), Ita Yuliati, was grateful to be able to continue to organize the Indonesia Open Gymnastics, which this year is the fourth event. The number of participants continues to increase from year to year.
"Currently, the enthusiasm of athletes is increasing. Now, we have won 1,372 participants," said Ita in her speech.
There are five disciplines competed, including artistic (8-11 July 2025), tradepolin (2-3 July 2025), rhythmic (4-6 July 2025), aerobics (11-13 July 2025), and parkour (11-13 July 2025 in Bandung).
"This is thanks to the participation of all clubs and provincial administrators at the 4th Indonesia Open Gymnastics 2025."
"Talent scouting (is carried out) which is our barometer, is expected to get athletes who will become Indonesian representatives for international activities," he said.
The government has provided support for gameastics through long-term national training (national training camps) until the 2028 Olympics, so the coaching process must be intensified.
"Of course we will not stop. We continue to monitor other children who will become barometers in order to improve achievements. So, it is hoped that they will be able to become representatives of Indonesia in international events, especially the Olympics," said Ita.
Athlete's Parents View: Physical Development & Character
The chairman of the Central KONI said it was important to support the athletes' parents in supporting every step in training to competing.
This was responded to by one of the athlete's parents, Samuel Gultom. According to him, his daughter has benefited a lot from the sport of Gimnastics.
"For the current phase, it is more about self-development and talent. Including courage, self-confidence, and definitely skills," said the man who is familiarly called Sammy when watching his daughter compete at the 4th Indonesia Open Gymnastics 2025.
In addition, Sammy, who is a lecturer in Political Sciences at the University of Indonesia, also mentioned character development.
"There are many (positives for game sports). Physically, it must be health, strength, fitness, and skills. However, it is also for character development, such as sportsmanship, positive mindsets, discipline, friendship, and cooperation," he said assessing the importance of his daughter's game games.
