Learning With Maestro 2025 Launch, Close Students To Artists Since Early Childhood
JAKARTA In order to preserve arts and culture in the sphere of schools, the Ministry of Culture launched two excellent programs, namely Learning with Maestro (BBM) and the School Entrance Artist Movement (GSMS). This program was introduced at Graha Utama Gedung A Ministry of Culture, Wednesday, July 9.
The running of this program marks the serious efforts of the stakeholders in bringing art closer to the younger generation through direct interactions with maestro and artists. The Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, emphasized that the two programs are an important bridge between the cultural and educational ecosystem.
"Learning with Maestro is our priority to strengthen art and school relations," he said in an official statement received by VOI, July 9.
Fadli really appreciates the maestros as an invaluable national asset. Therefore, direct interactions with students are expected to trigger their artistic spirit.
Their experience and expertise must be passed on to students. This is an important step to keep cultural heritage alive," he said.
This year's BBM program was attended by 60 selected young artists from 573 registrants in 31 provinces. The participants will learn directly from the leading maestro. They underwent a residence from July 20 to August 18, 2025 in six arts fields. Among them are literature with Gus TF Sakai in Padang Panjang, pedalangan with Ki Purbo Asmoro in Solo, theater with Iman Soleh in Bandung, dancing with Didik Nini Thowok in Yogyakarta, keroncong music with Sundari Soekotjo in Jakarta, and painting with Nasirun in Yogyakarta.
Untu program GSMS, sebanyak 220 artis yang menyebar di 224 sekolah pada 27 daerah terlibatkan. Program berlangsung 28 Juli28 November 2025. Pelapartisan pesawat dari SD hingga SLB akan belajar langsung mempraktikkan art, bukan hanya teori.
"Art is not just a subject matter. It's about experience, aesthetic value, and the spirit of togetherness," said Fadli.
The Director General of Culture and Tradition Protection, Restu Gunawan, explained that this program is also to build children's character. Not all should be artists. But they must know and love culture, he explained. He added that the enthusiasm of participants continued to increase. For BBM alone, the interest soared. Of the hundreds of proposals, only 60 passed, "he said.
At the end of his speech, Fadli Zon hoped that this program would produce a generation capable of maintaining the nation's culture in the midst of the swift currents of globalization. We want more parties to be involved: local governments, communities, the private sector, all must work together to advance national culture," he said.
Through Learning Together with Maestros and School Entrance Artists Movements, the Ministry of Culture invites the public to actively revive art as an important part of the formation of the nation's character.
