Menpora Encourages PSSI To Immediately Helate Women's League
JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo encouraged the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to organize the women's soccer league as soon as possible.
PSSI previously announced that it would hold the women's league in 2027. The plan is actually delayed for a year from the target early next year.
"We will ask PSSI later because we also want this women's league to be held soon," Dito told the media crew in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
PSSI continues to be urged to immediately hold the women's league. The reason is, the absence of competition in this category automatically has a negative impact on the Indonesian Women's National Team (Timnas).
One of the most actual examples is Indonesia's failure to play in the 2026 Women's Asian Cup after getting poor results in the qualification that took place at the Indomilk Arena.

Dito said that he would provide input to PSSI so that the women's league could be held in a practical manner to stimulate the best talents from all over Indonesia.
"We are starting to give triggers and injections so that soccer women's athletes throughout Indonesia can be monitored," he said.
The Indonesian women's League last rolled out in 2019. Since then, there has been not a single women's soccer special competition that is equivalent to being held in the country.
