Nvidia Becomes The First Public Company To Reach US$4 Trillion Market Capitalization
JAKARTA - Nvidia recorded a market capitalization of US$4 trillion (Rp65 quadrillion) on Wednesday, July 9. This made it the world's first public company to reach this milestone and strengthen its position as one of Wall Street's favorite stocks.
Shares of this leading chip design company rose to 2.4% to $164, driven by a growing demand that continues for artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Nvidia first hit a $1 trillion market value in June 2023, and its growth continued relentlessly with its market value jumping more than three times in about a year, faster than Apple and Microsoft, two other US companies with a market cap of over $3 trillion.

Nvidia has recovered about 74% from its lows in April, as the global market was shaken by US President Donald Trump's tariff policy. However, optimism over trade deals with US partners recently raised stock prices, with the S&P 500 index hitting an all-time high.
Nvidia weighs 7.3% on the S&P 500 index, which is the largest weight in the index. Other tech giants, Apple and Microsoft, account for about 7% and 6%, respectively.
