PT LIB Consider Lifting Ban On Supporters Away

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Ferry Paulus, stated that his party would review regulations related to the presence of supporters in the field. For next season, he said that there is an opportunity to prohibit fans from traveling (away) from being revoked.

"Regarding that the guest supporters are still under review. Previously, maybe the door was closed, we were asking for police approval so that FIFA would give blessings to clubs that do not have rivalry," said Ferry Paulus in a statement quoted Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

Currently, PT LIB and PSSI are still implementing a travel ban for the visiting team supporters. This was deliberately enforced after the Kanjuruhan Tragedy in 2022.

However, over time, some supporters tried to keep coming to the stadium when their favorite team was traveling to the opponent's headquarters.

This situation in fact forced clubs to pay fines for violating league regulations.

On the other hand, Ferry Paulus stated that the operator was still closing the door for guests to be present at the stadium in a match with a strong sense of rivalry. One example is Arema FC vs Persebaya Surabaya matches.

Likewise with a duel full of supporters' prestige between Persija Jakarta vs Persib Bandung. Ferry emphasized that the match was still closed to away spectators.

"For Arema vs Persebaya, it will still not be allowed to accompany guests to come. What is certain is that it can be said that the door will still be closed if Persib supporters come to Persija. Likewise, Persija supporters come to Persib," he said.
