SEA V League 2025 Results: Indonesia Beaten By Thailand 1-3
JAKARTA The Indonesian Men's Volleyball National Team suffered a crushing defeat against Thailand in the first match of the 2025 SEA V League which was held in the Philippines on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
In the clashes, the Garuda squad, which was raised by Jiang Jie, had to admit the opponent's strength with a landslide score of 1-3 (25-22, 21-25, 22-25, and 20-25).
This is a reply from Thailand for their defeat against Indonesia at the AVC Nations Cup 2025 in Bahrain last month. At that time, Indonesia won a dramatic 3-2.
Jiang Jie fielded mainstay players, such as Rivan Nurmulki, Dio Zulfikri, Boy Arnez Arabi, Jasen Natanael, Hendra Kurniawan, and Farhan Halim. Meanwhile, Doni Haryono was absent due to a shoulder injury and was only on the sidelines.

Indonesia actually started the match well and managed to steal the first set with a score of 25-23. However, they failed to maintain momentum and had to lose the next three sets.
On the other hand, Thailand appeared so solid with aggressive play and tight defense that it made it difficult for Indonesia to develop the best game.
They took the lead 3-0 at the start of the second set, while Indonesia missed many chances. Dio and his friends continued to struggle to catch up and get the score closer 20-22, but ended up to zero.
Thailand again performed well and immediately won 3-1 in the third set. Indonesia then equalized the score 8-8, but Thailand managed to take advantage of many of Indonesia's mistakes to excel.
Fierce matches took place in the fourth set. However, Indonesia's efforts with various attacks continued to fail so that Thailand also managed to seal the victory.
The 2025 SEA V League is an important event to measure Indonesia's readiness to enter the Asian level tournament. Indonesia will next fight the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
