Kajati East Java EMPHASIZED That No One Should Challenge The Corruption Investigation Of The Sumenep BSPS Program
The East Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) asked witnesses in the alleged corruption case of the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) in Sumenep Regency for the 2024 Fiscal Year to be cooperative and provide information according to facts.
"We urge the witnesses to provide honest and as they are. Do not be influenced by persuasion, direction, or requests from parties who do not want the law enforcement process to run properly," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the East Java Prosecutor's Office Saiful Bahri Siregar in Surabaya, Wednesday, July 9, confiscated by Antara.
The Prosecutor's Office has sent summons to a number of witnesses for questioning at the stage of investigating the alleged corruption case of the BSPS Program in Sumenep.
He emphasized that if the witness provides incorrect information, he can be subject to criminal sanctions as stipulated in Article 22 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
"If there are parties who try to obstruct or obstruct the investigation process, they can be charged under Article 21 of the same law," he said.
The BSPS program is a central government assistance sourced from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) with a total value of around Rp109.8 billion.
This budget is intended for 5,490 beneficiaries in Sumenep to repair uninhabitable houses.
Each recipient should get funds of Rp. 20 million, consisting of Rp. 17.5 million for the purchase of building materials and Rp. 2.5 million for the repairman's wages.
However, based on the results of the interim investigation, it is suspected that there has been a cut in aid funds.
From an allocation of Rp. 17.5 million for materials, around Rp. 5 million was deducted, with details of around Rp. 4 million being diverted for certain purposes and Rp. 1 million for administrative costs.
"Almost all beneficiaries claim to have been cut," said Saiful Bahri.
