Japan Open 2025: Fajar/Fikri Direct Civil War
JAKARTA - The men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri immediately fought civil war against compatriots when they made their international competitive debut at the Japan Open 2025 next week.
The Japan Open 2025 has officially released the draw results on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Indonesia has sent a total of 13 representatives to the tournament, including Anthony Ginting and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung who have returned to compete.
Several Indonesian representatives face tough challenges based on the draw chart. One of them, of course, is Fajar/Fikri, who has just been united by PBSI for three Asian tours this month.
Fajar/Fikri will start their journey in the tournament leveled Super 750 BWF by fighting Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi, the seventh seeded pair.

Fajar/Fikri's composition is actually a bit strange because they are both front players. Apart from the Japan Open 2025, the two will also play together at the China Open and the Macau Open 2025.
PBSI decided to unite the two names for these three tournaments because Daniel Marthin 'the Fikri pair' was injured and Muhammad Rian Ardianto the Fajar pair took a break for family affairs.
Fajar and Fikri are actually not foreign couples. Although they have never played together at the international level, the two of them have participated in the National Championships representing the SGS PLN.
Indonesia has a total of three men's doubles that have dropped at the Japan Open 2025. One other couple is Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.
Leo/Bagas who are the eighth seed will start their journey against the Chinese Taipei pair, Liu Kuang Heng/Yang Po Han.
The Japan Open 2025 will take place on 15-20 July 2025 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. This event provides prizes of 1 million US dollars or Rp. 16.2 billion.
