Jakarta And The Surrounding Areas Are Hit By Floods, DMC Dompet Dhuafa Is The Evacuation Of Residents
JAKARTA The Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center (DMC) helped deal with flood disasters in Cipinang Melayu Village, Makassar District, East Jakarta on Monday (7/7/25) until early morning. The flood is thought to have been caused by local rain with high intensity and an increase in water discharge at the Sunter Hulu River Gate.
This response action, DMC dispatched a team in Cipinang Melayu Village, Makassar District, East Jakarta, to evacuate directly to inspect the location and coordinate with RT/RW as well as the local sub-district to evacuate affected residents. According to BPBD DKI Jakarta until this afternoon (08/07) 62 RTs were flooded in Jakarta. A total of 538 survivors were affected. A number of roads and infrastructure affected by flooding and access are difficult to pass, namely the Kedoya, Rawa Buaya and Kedaung Kali Angke roads.
Ahmad Yamin, a representative of the DMC Dompet Dhuafa Emergency Response, Recovery and Reconstruction team, reported that until last night there were two evacuation points that were being alerted by the DMC team because the floods at both points continued to increase significantly.
The two points are located on Jalan Haji Asmir and Jalan Kali Sunter, Cipinang Melayu Village, Makassar District, East Jakarta City.
The DMC team is still going down for evacuation services. Currently, there are two evacuation points that we are on standby because the increase in flood water is still quite significant, plus the rainfall is still high," said Yamin.
A number of residents who were successfully evacuated by the DMC team consisted of 5 adults, 3 children and 1 elderly. The evacuation was carried out in several places, including the Al-Muqorobbin Mosque, Borobudur University Mosque, Al-Hidayah Mosque, and BPBD tent.
In addition, the DMC team is still focused on monitoring water movements in the lowest areas along with village officials, RW and local Kelurahan Community Institutions (LMK), as well as coordinating with Mobile Pump officers from the Water Source Service (DSA) at the location.

Yamin added that the DMC team will remain on alert for flooding throughout the Jabodetabek area for the next week. Apart from Cipinang Melayu, DMC Dompet Dhuafa moved to Griya Bintaro Estate Housing, Tangerang in the early hours of the morning (Monday, 07/07/2025). A number of volunteers launched the affected residents, one of whom is elderly, priority and lying down must be immediately evacuated with medical personnel.
Over the next week, it is possible that we will remain prepared for flooding in the Jabodetabek area. We continue to coordinate with our friends who guard Katulampa Water Gate, Bogor, Depok Water Gate, and several other floodgates so that if there is an increase in water, the team is ready to respond," said Yamin.
Needs that must be immediately distributed to flood survivors ranging from food, clothing, cleaning equipment and sleeping equipment and medicines. In addition, the team is still evacuating.
