Polda Metro Arrests 1,745 Criminals, 61 Of Them Minors
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya arrested 1,745 street criminals or street crimes for a period of three months. Of these, 61 of them fall into the category of minors.
"The suspects who were arrested totaled 1,745 suspects with details of 1,413 men, then 71 women, and 61 people are still in the child category," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Wira Satya Triputra to reporters, Tuesday, July 8.
Then, of these, 52 people are recidivist status. In other sense, they are criminals who have previously been convicted or imprisoned.
The arrest of thousands of criminals, continued Wira, was based on the results of the disclosure of 1,449 cases. Most of them are cases of theft with weight.
"With details, there were 552 cases of theft, then 70 cases of theft with violence or robbery, then 464 cases of theft, then 229 cases of ordinary theft," he said.

Wira also said that of the thousands of cases, there were 49 acts of thuggery. The perpetrators are debt collectors to members of a group of thugs.
"After thuggery operations were held, we are still uncovering 49 cases of extortion carried out by groups, both debt collectors and thuggery groups," said Wira.
Meanwhile, the prosecution of 1,745 criminals was carried out for the last three months or to be precise starting from April to June 2025.
