Riau Police Destroyed 26.83 Kg Of Crystal Meth

JAKARTA - Riau Police Chief Inspector General Setia Imam Effendi destroyed 26.83 kg of Crystal meth which was held at the Regional Police office which was also witnessed by the Pekanbaru District Court judges, the Riau High Prosecutor's Office, and the Head of the Riau Police Forensic Laboratory.

"The total amount of evidence as much as 45 Kg is of the 10 cases that were disclosed but only 26.83 Kg could be destroyed", said Agung Setia in his statement in Pekanbaru, reported by Antara, Wednesday, May 5.

He said the remaining 18.17 kg of drugs would be burned or destroyed as well after being resolved. The administration was first carried out with a court order.

He revealed that the destroyed illegal items that destroy the mentality of the younger generation were evidence of 10 cases currently being handled by the Riau Police Directorate for Narcotics.

"The suspects arrested were 15 suspects, namely SYA, ZAM, ADJ, MA, HS, FAH, SYAF, ZUL, MF, ML, ISW, GT, AG, and NOR", he said.

Agung said the cooperation of all parties is needed to build an understanding in dealing with the endless distribution of drugs.

"Because law enforcement efforts are the last resort in dealing with this drug problem, society must be in line with what we are doing", he said.

He said all parties are involved in eradicating drugs, and it cannot only be done by law enforcers, so this ecosystem in Riau needs to be repaired with an ecosystem that refuses drugs.

Agung said that even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, his party did not dampen its intention to eradicate drugs and their dealers

"We are still doing deep into the investigation, and we know that there are couriers and porters on land and at sea who control the circulation of this illicit goods. We will continue to hunt drug dealers and if we want Riau to be free from drugs", he said.
