Takeyuki Oya Recruitment To Transfer J-League Knowledge To The Indonesian League

JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) officially appointed Takeyuki Oya as the General Manager (GM) of Competition and Operations. The appointment of a former Japanese League (J-League) official is a transformation effort that continues to be launched by PT LIB as the operator of the country's competition.

"Today, PT LIB introduced Takeyuki Oya as GM Competition and Operations. This is extraordinary, there is a breakthrough where PT LIB ensures that it runs professionally, transparently, and well," said PSSI General Chair (Ketum) Erick Thohir, at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Takeyuki was appointed to occupy a new position in LIB, not without reason. His background, which has been in the same field for 16 years, is a strong reason.

Previously, he had served as GM Media Promotion and Department of International Business and Global Business GM J-League.

"His experience has been 16 years. Seeing that, we believe that the Indonesian League can be improved. I thank Mr. Ferry (Paulus), extraordinary breakthroughs, improvements to the Indonesian national team calendar, implementation of VAR, monitoring cooperation continues to be improved," said Erick.

With the presence of Takeyuki Oya in the ranks of PT LIB officials, it is hoped that its performance can help efforts to improve the quality and quality of Indonesian football, especially the league.

"So, actually when asked, why? Yes, indeed because we are in the process of improving the transformation, we are not allergic to better ones too."
