Jorge Martin Comeback, Undergoes Test At Misano

JAKARTA - The Spaniard, Jorge Martin, is getting ready to return to the 2025 MotoGP track. He started his steps by undergoing a closed test this week.

Aprilia Racing in its latest statement has confirmed that the 2024 MotoGP world champion will ride a RS-GP25 motorbike at Sirkuti Misano, Italy, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

This is the first time Martin has ridden that motorbike since he had an accident at the Qatar MotoGP in April 2025. At that time, the rider nicknamed Martinator suffered a broken rib and lung damage.

Martin underwent the latest medical examination at the end of June 2025. Aprilia later confirmed that their driver's injury recovery process was positive.

The 27-year-old racer actually drove Aprilia RSV4 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last week. However, he still needs two more weeks to complete the healing.

If the test at Misano is successful, Martin will still have to miss Germany on July 13, 2025. So, he just might make a comeback at the Ceska MotoGP the following week.

The problems that befell Martin and kept him out since the start of this season paved the way for Marc Marquez, who has so far been dominant and lead the top of the standings.

Ducati Levono Team's rider has collected a total of 307 points. He is 68 points ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing) in second place.

Thus, Martin's chances of being able to keep his champion cans are somewhat impossible. If he returns and performs well, his chances of overtaking Marquez are rather difficult.
