Victims Died Of Tunu KMP Drowning In The Bali Strait So 8 People, 27 People Still Wanted

BANYUWANGI - The SAR Operations Post and the Potential for Joint SAR at Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, East Java recorded that the passengers of KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya who drowned in the Bali Strait increased to eight people.

"To date, 30 people have been found safe, 8 people have died and 27 people are in search," said Deputy for Search and Rescue Operations for Basarnas Preparedness, Ribut Eko Suyanto, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 7.

The East Java Police Disaster Victim Identification Team (DVI) AKBP Adam Bimantoro said that the bodies of the two male sexes found on Sunday (6/7) afternoon by fishermen in the southern part of the Bali Strait, had been identified by KMP passengers Tunu Pratama Jaya.

The male victim is named Daniar Nadief (21), a resident of Sumbergondo Village, Glenmore District, Banyuwangi Regency (East Java).

Previously, on Monday (7/7) morning, the East Java Regional Police's DVI Team also released the bodies of the Tunu ship victims which were found by the SAR team on Sunday (6/7) afternoon, and the location where the victim was found about 6 miles south of the location where the ship sank.

The victim is male on behalf of I Kadek Oka (51), a resident of Banjarangang Village, Klungkung Regency, Bali.

"The body can be identified based on primary data in the form of fingerprints and teeth, as well as secondary data in the form of medical and property," said Head of Sub-Directorate of the East Java Police Dokpol AKBP Adam Bimantoro.

After being identified, the body was handed over to the family at the Blambangan Banyuwangi Hospital.
