National Police Chief: Police Robots Don't Use Budget Because They Just Tested
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the police robot that had been shown by the National Police did not use the state budget because it was only a trial stage.
This was conveyed by the National Police Chief in response to questions from media crews regarding debates in the community regarding the price of the robot.
"Don't use the budget, people (because) trials," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 7.
The police robot test, he said, was carried out during the celebration of Bhayangkara's 79th Anniversary which was held on July 1, 2025.
The National Police Chief revealed that the reason for the presence of police robots is the Police's effort to adapt to the needs of technological developments in the future.
Karena negara-negara modern juga polisi dibantu robot. Tentunya kami juga bersiap-siap untuk beradaptasi menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan ke depan, ujarnya.
It is known that the presence of this police robot was carried out in collaboration between the National Police and private companies, one of which was PT Ezra Robotics Teknologi.
President Director of PT Ezra Robotics Teknologi RDhanisakka V. Vardhana said that his party made an I-K9 robot, a four-legged robot that has the ability to detect explosives and others.
The K9 robot also has the ability to run 7 meters per second, is equipped with a camera, and has the capability to support a robot body weighing 85 kilograms.
The basic price of the robot, he said, is estimated at 260 thousand US dollars.
"From the National Police itself, there is no robot specification as needed, but for the basic itself it is almost Rp. 3 billion for one unit," he said.
As for the celebration of Bhayangkara's 79th Anniversary, Ezra Robotics handed over five test robots to the Police.
"From us, we only trade them (robots) to do attractions to roads and so on. The autonomous has not yet functioned. Everything is still a controller," said Dhanisika.
