After 25 Years, Microsoft Closes Company Operations In Pakistan
JAKARTA Microsoft has stopped its company operations in Pakistan after being established for 25 years in the country. Now, the US company will switch to a different operational model.
This change in operational model has been confirmed by a Microsoft spokesperson. The company will continue to serve its customers, but through a Microsoft retailer or office located in a nearby country.
Although transferred to other countries or third parties, this operational model is believed not to affect the user experience. Microsoft also emphasized that operations like this have proven successful in other countries.
"Our customer and service agreements will not be affected by these changes," the spokesperson said, reported via TechCrunch on Monday, July 7. "Our subscription remains our top priority and can expect the same high-level service."
Those who are certain to be affected by this closure are employees in Microsoft Pakistan. According to sources familiar with the matter, only five employees will be affected because Microsoft does not have technical resources locally.

Microsoft's shutdown of operations in Pakistan is part of a restructuring. Recently, Microsoft has reportedly reduced 4 percent of its total global workforce or around 9,000 positions from various parts of the world.
Before Microsoft stopped operations in Pakistan, the tech company had transferred its license and commercial contract management to European centers in Ireland. This transition has been carried out over the past few years.
Even though local offices are closed, Microsoft asks customers in Pakistan not to worry. They promised to continue to provide a high level of service in the future.
