Samsung Removes Old DeX Version In One UI 8 Update For Galaxy Tab

JAKARTA When launching One UI 6 some time ago, Samsung introduced the latest version of DeX. In the firmware update, Samsung equates the usual One UI interface with the DeX interface.

Some people may not like the latest version of DeX so they can still use the old version. However, this will change after One UI 8 is launched. The reason is, Samsung removed the classic DeX in the latest firmware.

One UI 8 has not been released publicly, but users who use the Galaxy Tab S9+ can already access the beta version. One user named DalgleishGX, citing from SamMobile, confirmed that the old version of DeX has been removed.

This means that users will get a DeX interface that is more similar to the system interface. This change is expected to apply to other tablet versions compatible with One UI 8.

Although the old DeX interface has been removed from the device, users can still access the interface. This only applies if the tablet is connected to the monitor or screen

The difference between the old and new versions of the interface can be seen from the layout. The old DeX places application launchers and navigation buttons at the bottom left of the screen, similar to the desktop operating system. Fast Panel shortcuts are also at the bottom right.

In the latest version, application launchers are moved to the center of the taskbar. Meanwhile, Fast Panels can be accessed by sliding down from the top right corner of the screen.

Basically, the old version of DeX looks more like a traditional desktop interface. This version is ideal for mouse and keyboard use. In contrast to the latest version of DeX designed for touch-friendly.
