Constrained By Local Road Access, Hutama Karya Finds Solutions To Build Pekanbaru Ring Road

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya noted, the progress of Pekanbaru Ring Road Development (Pekanbaru Association) has reached 57.57 percent to date.

This 30.5-kilometer toll road project is an integral part of the Pekanbaru 'Ranggat Toll Road network which will be connected to the Pekanbaru'Dumai Toll Road and the Pekanbaru 'Bangkinang' XIII Toll Road Koto Kampar.

According to Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim, this integration creates a transportation ecosystem that allows the distribution of goods and services to become more efficient as well as opens geographical isolation so far is a challenge for people in remote areas.

"This infrastructure project is designed to strengthen economic connectivity and improve the welfare of the people in Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency through the opening of wider access and the creation of new economic opportunities," said Adjib in a written statement, quoted Monday, July 7.

This project is also designed to have a width of 3.6 meters per lane with two lanes per lane and a maximum speed design of 100 km/hour. Then equipped with three entrances and exits on Rimbo Panjang, Jalan Siak and Muara Fajar to facilitate public access.

An important infrastructure in this section is the 97.5 meter long main bridge with a total bridge length of 200 meters across the Siak River. Supporting facilities in the form of Type A rest areas will be built to support the convenience of road users, equipped with various integrated facilities with local products.

Later, this project will cross strategic areas in Pekanbaru City, including Muara Fajar Village, Rumbai Bukit, Agrotourism, Palas and Sri Meranti, as well as in Kampar Regency including Karya Indah, Rimbo Panjang, Tarai Bangun and Kualu Villages.

Responding to input from the people of Karya Indah Village on local road access, Hutama Karya is committed to improving the affected infrastructure.

Currently, said Adjib, an effective solution is being prepared to ensure that the access to Jalan Pemuda remains optimal, including the construction of alternative roads and improvement of the drainage system. Intensive coordination with local governments and community leaders continues to be carried out to find the best solution that accommodates the interests of all parties.

"As a form of social responsibility, Hutama Karya will regularly hold dialogues with the community every month to ensure the aspirations of the residents are well accommodated," he said.
