Elite DPR Allegedly Conspiracy To Substitute The Issue Of Gibran's Impeachment
JAKARTA Lecturer of state law at Mulawarman University, Herdiansyah Hamzah suspects that there is a conspiracy at the DPR elite level to reduce the issue of impeachment of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka as demanded by the Retired Forum for TNI Soldiers.
As is known, the recommendation letter for the impeachment of Gibran sent by the Retired Forum of TNI Soldiers was not read out at the DPR RI Plenary Meeting, last Thursday, July 3. The chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, did not reveal the reason why the letter was canceled at the plenary meeting, but had admitted that he had not read the letter because he had just returned to his office after the recess. In fact, the letter has been sent to the Secretariat of the DPR, DPD, and MPR RI since Monday 2 June 2025.
According to Herdiansyah, all the important information that reached the table of the leadership of the DPR should have been read out at the plenary meeting. Therefore, it is very surprising that the leadership of the DPR and MPR claim that they have not read the letter from the Purnawirawan Forum.
Even though there are no rules that say it must be read out. However, if the letter has entered, it should still be read out," he said, Sunday, July 6, 2025.
There is a kind of conspiracy where the information is circulating in only a few people. There is a possibility that the contents of the letter are only circulating within the leadership of the DPR. In fact, the plenary session requires all the information to be submitted openly, especially to 580 members of the DPR," he continued.

He stated that not only members of the DPR, the public also has the right to know the contents of the recommendation letter of the Retired Forum for TNI Soldiers. Moreover, the issue is classified as critical, namely the impeachment of the vice president.
The DPR leadership's decision not to read out the recommendation letter is questionable. If then the 580 members of the DPR don't know everything about the contents of the letter, what do they want to discuss. That's what I mean by some kind of effort to limit information so that not all members of the DPR know. That's not fair," he said.
On the other hand, Herdiansyah said that it was possible to cancel the reading of the recommendation letter of the Purnawirawan Forum regarding the impeachment of Gibran was due to the absence of a green light or approval from President Prabowo Subianto. My opinion, Prabowo may not want to waste energy at odds with Jokowi. He must have considered Gibran who was considered to have contributed to his victory," he said.
