Bima Arya Opens Incentive Opportunities For Tourist Foreign Exchange Contributors

BADUNG - Providing incentives for regional heads who contribute to foreign exchange through tourism is possible. This matter was directly disclosed by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto.

He said this in Badung Regency, Saturday, related to the proposal of the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster who hoped that the tourism area for the world's purpose would receive incentives in the form of building supporting infrastructure facilities.

"Incentives allow, right, we have regional incentive funds, related to areas that have good performance in strengthening fiscal capacity, it is very possible (to get)," said the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, July 5.

To realize this proposal, Bima Arya said, it is necessary to make a booster regulation in the form of terms and conditions for recipients.

"One, what are the criteria, where are the regions worthy and entitled to receive the incentives, and from what there must be clarity," he said.

Currently, there are no special regulations for providing this incentive, but regional incentive funds, one of which is linear if used for foreign exchange-producing areas through tourism.

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs said that he would then coordinate with the Ministry of Finance regarding this proposal.

In addition, according to him, what must be considered is the use of these incentive funds if they have been given.

"We hope that tourism must be sustainable, the estuary is there, not only tourists are busy but not sustainable and environmentally friendly," he said.

Previously, the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster himself, had submitted this proposal to Commission VII of the DPR RI during a group visit to Denpasar, Wednesday (2/7), where Bali itself was deemed worthy of this incentive.

This is because the Island of the Gods has contributed 44 percent of the country's foreign exchange, or as much as Rp107 trillion, rotating in Bali throughout 2024.

"For Bali, because it has a big contribution to Indonesia's tourism foreign exchange, 44 percent, there should be affirmation from the central government to support tourism in Bali so that it is of high quality and sustainable," said Wayan Koster.
