Caring For Indonesian Football, Oxford United Holds Clinic Coaching
JAKARTA Oxford United held a coaching clinic on the sidelines of their tour to Indonesia as a form of concern for the development of Indonesian football.
The coaching clinic activity took place at GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Kuningan, Jakarta, on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Two Indonesian national team players, Marselino Ferdinand and Ole Romeny, participated in the activity.
Oxford United chairman Grant Ferguson said that being able to visit Indonesia and share knowledge with young talents is a golden opportunity for them.
"We have had such great support in recent years. And being able to feel that support directly is a fantastic thing," he said.
This clinical coaching was attended by young Indonesian seeds from Asiop and Bina Bannua Football Academy football (SSB) schools.
Oxford United also brought in some of their main players such as Sam Long, Stan Mills, and Will Vaulks. Accompanied by Craig Short, Chris Short, Chris Hacket, Jonnymas, and Lewis Price from coaching staff.
Ferguson said they had a commitment to make positive changes during this tour as well as the next tours.

"To be able to hold an event like this represents our ambition to leave something meaningful for Indonesia, and we are very happy to see how many children enjoy this coaching clinic," he said.
In addition to coaching clinics, Oxford United has shown its commitment to helping the development of Indonesian grassroots football by visiting a number of orphanages, one of which is Graha Orphana Dhuafa Mampang.
Compensation and donations of football training tools were also provided by the team led by Gary Rowett.
"I understand how this kind of event means for the kids here. They are very excited when they talk about football and we have a hand in giving them access to training like this," said Marselino.
Oxford United will start their journey in the 2025 President's Cup against the Indonesia All-Star. The match will take place on Sunday, July 6, at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.
