Arriving In Rio De Janeiro To Attend The BRICS Summit, President Prabowo Was Welcomed By The Military Honorary Ceremony

JAKARTA - The Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft carrying the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived at the Gale street Base, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Saturday morning, July 5, 2025, at around 06.30 local time.

President Prabowo's arrival in the city of Rio de Janero is to attend the 2025 BRICS Summit on the sidelines of President Prabowo's state visit to Brazil.

Arriving at the runway of Galecurang Air Base, President Prabowo was greeted with a military honorary ceremony. When crossing the red carpet after descending the plane's stairs, a trumpet was heard with respect from the army in line with the military's honor which accompanied President Prabowo Subianto's steps.

At the end of the red carpet, President Prabowo was greeted by top Brazilian officials, namely Ambassador Laudemar Gon Maritime Affairs de Aguiar Neto, Secretary of Trade, Science, Technology, Innovation, and Culture of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Commander of the Gale Airforce Base Colonel Marcell Barros de Paula.

Meanwhile, Indonesian officials were also present to welcome the Indonesian Ambassador in Brasilia Edi Yusup, and the Indonesian Embassy Defense Attache Kol Rizal Ashwam.

After the welcoming procession was complete, President Prabowo boarded an official vehicle that had been prepared and continued his journey to the hotel where he spent the night during the agenda in Rio de Janeiro. President Prabowo's presence at the 2025 BRICS Summit was Indonesia's first presence since joining the organization's forum in early 2025.

Also accompanying President Prabowo on arrival in Rio de Janeiro is Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
