PSSI Appoints Frank Van Kempen As U-20 Indonesian National Team Coach
JAKARTA The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) officially appointed the Dutch coach, Frank van Kempen, as coach of the Indonesian U-20 national team.
The announcement was delivered directly by PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir via uploads on Instagram social media on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
"Today I met Frank van Kempen who will also serve as Head of the U-20 Indonesian National Team Coach," Erick wrote in the caption of a photo featuring himself and Frank.
Frank van Kempen is a very experienced coach. He is noted to have handled groups at the club and national teams level.
The Dutch U-17, U-20, and U-23 age groups, have felt their cold hands.
Frank will fill the position of coach U-20 Indonesia to replace the previous coach Indra Sjafri.
Selain di level tim nasional, dia juga pernah menangani tim muda klub-klub Belanda seperti Roda JC U-19, Helmond U-21, VVV-Venlo U-21, Sparta U-19 dan U-21, dan NAC Breda U-21.
"With Coach Frank's presence, we want to build the U-20 national team strength to be better prepared for the next level and be able to compete at a higher level. Good luck on duty, Coach Frank!" Erick wrote.

Apart from having experience as a coach, Frank has also been a Coach instructor for UEFA A, B and C since 2014.
He also has an UEFA A license that he has been holding since 2014.
Another experience he has is being an assistant coach of a senior club. One of them is helping PSV Eindhoven coach, Philip Cocu, as a video analyst in the 2011/2012.
