Oxford United Coach Wants Marselino To Get More Play Minutes
JAKARTA Oxford United coach Gary Rowett wants his team Marselino Ferdinand to have more playing minutes, either in the team or as a loan player next season.
Marselino and Oxford United are currently in Indonesia to participate in the 2025 Presidential Cup which is scheduled to take place from Sunday, July 6, 2025, tomorrow.
Rowett in a press conference ahead of the match said that young Marselino needed more flying hours to grow.
"I think next season he will need to play more time, either at Oxford United or another option, which is loaned out," said Gary.
Marselino, who is a player in the Indonesian national team, joined Oxford United in August 2024. However, until now he has not had many playing minutes.

The 20-year-old has been deployed to the young Oxford team and has only been given the opportunity to defend the first team twice, each against Exeter City and Swansea.
"He's still young, a talented player, but we know how important he is to the national team too. So, we want to give him the best chance to develop," said Rowett.
Marselino is actually a mainstay player in the Indonesian national team. He always gets a lot of playing time both in the Shin Tae-yong era and in Patrick Kluivert.
Oxford United will start the struggle in the President's Cup against Indonesia All-Star. The clash will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
