Jakarta Water Hero Holds, Pramono Targets PAM Jaya To Be Listed On The Exchange During 85 Percent Service Coverage
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that currently the coverage of piped clean water services managed by Perumda PAM Jaya has reached 73 percent. Pramono asked PAM Jaya to increase service coverage by 78 percent by the end of this year.
Thus, Pramono believes that the fulfillment of 100 percent water service coverage can be carried out in 2029.
Pramono also targets PAM Jaya to start listed on the stock exchange or an initial public offering (IPO) when water service coverage throughout Jakarta reaches 85 percent.
This was revealed by Pramono during the Jakarta Water Hero 2025 event which was initiated by PAM Jaya.
"So now it can be 78 percent, hopefully next year it can be 85 percent. IPOs don't have to wait until 100 percent coverage. 85 percent I think that's enough," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, July 4.
According to Pramono, PAM Jaya was able to make an initial share offer when the service coverage was 85 percent.
Bearing in mind, from this achievement, the BUMD, which manages clean water and drinking water, already has 2.5 million customers.
"This is a really big size and water is captive. If it's air captive but it can't be IPO, I think it's our own fault. So, I believe that PAM Jaya's future is bright," explained Pramono.
Continuing, the President Director of PAM Jaya, Arief Nasrudin, said that his party appreciated PAM Jaya's customers for helping prevent excessive groundwater exploitation.

Therefore, the Jakarta Water Hero 2025 event is not just a ceremony, but also a collaborative invitation for all elements of society to no longer use groundwater to reduce land subsidence in Jakarta.
'Protecting Jakarta's water is a shared task. It's not enough that PAM Jaya is moving. The government, customers, communities, business actors, and the wider community must work together. JWH is a symbol of that collaboration. Hopefully this step will continue to create Jakarta as a global and cultured city," said Arief.
For information, JWH has been held since 2023 and this year is entering its third event.
This program is a place of appreciation for customers who use piped water wisely, support the preservation of water sources, and comply with water management policies, one of which is through DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 93 of 2021 concerning Groundwater Free Zones (ZOBAT), which aims to reduce groundwater exploitation.
At this year's event, PAM Jaya gave 58 appreciations to customers who were screened from 70 proposals that had been submitted since April 2025.
