BMKG Forecasts Cloudy And Rainy Weather In A Number Of Cities This Week

JAKARTA - Heavy cloudy weather conditions with several cities experiencing rain are predicted by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKK) this weekend.

BMKG forecaster Apdillah Akbar in an online weather forecast followed from Jakarta, Saturday, explained that cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Banda Aceh, Padang, Jambi and Pekanbaru and there is the potential for light rain in Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, and Bengkulu, moderate rain in Medan, rain accompanied by lightning in Tanjung Pinang and Bandar Lampung.

"On the island of Java, it is predicted that the weather conditions will be thick cloudy in Surabaya, light rain in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Semarang as well as moderate rain in Serang," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, July 5.

Apdillah said that for the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions, BMKG predicts cloudy weather in Kupang as well as light rainfall in Denpasar and Mataram.

On the island of Kalimantan, he warned, the potential for rain in the capital city of his five provinces. Including light rain in Tanjung Selor, Palangkaraya and Pontianak, as well as rain accompanied by lightning in Banjarmasin and Samarinda.

For big cities in Sulawesi, thick cloudy conditions are predicted to occur in Manado and Makassar accompanied by light rain in Gorontalo, Palu and Kendari and thunderstorms in Mamuju.

Meanwhile, Apdillah said that BMKG predicts that in eastern Indonesia there will be the potential for light rain in Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari and Jayawijaya. And there is the potential for moderate rain in Nabire, Jayapura and Merauke.
