Corey Taylor Calls Black Sabbath An Inspiration For The Formation Of Slipknot
JAKARTA - Praise for Black Sabbath continues to be voiced, ahead of their last show at Villa Park, Birmingham on July 5.
Most recently, Corey Taylor said the band, which consists of Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar),IRDER Butler (bass), and Bill Ward (drums), had inspired the formation of Slipknot in the mid-1990s.
"Sabbath gave us a blueprint, Sabbath gave us the recipe," Taylor said during a recent interview with the BBC.
They gave us a recipe book, my friend. The mystery is in the lyrics. It's in his voice. It's in the way it makes things feel a little darker, "added the 51-year-old vocalist.
Taylor does not deny his love for Sabbath. He even mentioned the song 'Black Sabbath' which was released in 1970 as one of the most terrifying songs he has ever heard.
"I don't need to look for, you know,IRDONGIR (from The Omen). I don't need to look for Mercyful Fate's (Denish metal band). I'm back to the beginning. I'm back to Black Sabbath, the song and the rest is history," he said.
