Former Arsenal Star Thomas Partey Charged With 5 Rape And 1 Sexual Harassment
JAKARTA - The world of football was again rocked by shocking news. No kidding, former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, 32, was charged with five counts of rape and one charge of sexual harassment against three different women. The indictment comes after a three-year intensive investigation conducted by Scotland Yard, Mail Online reported, quoted on Saturday, July 5.
This case is in the spotlight, especially as this indictment was officially filed just five days after Partey's contract with Arsenal ended on June 30. Currently, the Ghana international is without a club after five seasons in the Premier League with the Gunners.
According to the details of the indictment, two counts of rape were related to one woman, while the other three charges of rape involved a second woman. There is one charge of sexual harassment related to a third woman. The identities of the alleged victims cannot be stated.
Thomas Partey is scheduled to attend the Westminster Court on August 5 to face trial.

The investigation into Thomas Partey by the Metropolitan Police has actually begun in February 2022 following a rape report. He was first arrested in July 2022, although at that time his name was not published and he continued to play for Arsenal during the investigation. It was revealed that Partey played more than 50 games for Arsenal while in security.
The Royal Public Prosecutor's Service (CPS) stated that the indictment was filed after " carefully reviewing comprehensive evidence files."
Responding to this indictment, Partey's lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire of Hickman and Rose, stated that her client "rejects all charges against her" and "welcomes a good chance to finally clear her name."
In a statement, Wiltshire added, "Thomas Partey has been working closely with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation. Given that there is now an ongoing legal process, my client cannot comment further."
