Don't Intervention With The Law, GEKIRA Firmly Rejects Suspension Of Detention Of Villa Suspects Prayer
JAKARTA - The Greater Indonesia Christian Movement (GEIRA), the Gerindra Party's wing, rejected and objected in connection with the Ministry of Human Rights' plan to suspend the detention of 7 suspected Villa Prayer Destruction in Cidahu, Sukabumi, West Java.
"We reject and object in connection with the plan from the Ministry of Human Rights which is the guarantor to suspend the detention of 7 suspects for the destruction of Villa Doa in Cidahu, Sukabumi," said General Chairperson of Gekira, Nikson Silalahi, through the Chairman of LBH Gekira, Santrawan Paparang, in a press statement, Friday, July 4, 2025.
Paparang hopes that he will not intervene in upholding justice in this alarming incident. Instead, he encouraged the legal process to continue according to the rules.
"Don't intervene, let the legal process run until the trial. Later the judge will decide according to the legal mechanism," he said.
He said the work of the police who had determined the suspect should be appreciated. As a form of state presence in solving problems in society.
"We appreciate the work of the police who have quickly secured the perpetrators. Next, let the process in court decide, so that it becomes a deterrent effect and a lesson for all citizens," he said.
