Jakarta Residents Remember Deputy Governor Riza's Message: COVID-19 Still Exists, Refrain From Pilgrimage To The Grave
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) Ahmad Riza Patria asked all Jakarta people to temporarily not make a pilgrimage to the family grave during the Eid Al-Fitr 2021 holiday.
The goal is to avoid crowds that have the potential to cause the spread of COVID-19.
"Indeed, we have asked the public for pilgrimage activities not to be carried out in crowds and not to have grave pilgrimages, not necessarily on holidays," said Deputy Governor Riza to reporters at Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday, May 5.
Pilgrimage to the family grave is a tradition in Eid celebrations. But, said Deputy Governor Riza, pilgrimages can be done at any time. For this reason, people are asked to refrain from staying at home.
"It can be done on other days in order to reduce the crowd and increase people around the cemetery," said Deputy Governor Riza.
However, if you still want to go on pilgrimage, later there will be officials who arrange everything. For example the time during pilgrimage. So that, later it does not cause a crowd.
"We will also present the apparatus to arrange so that there will be no crowds and interactions at the funeral. So we ask the community for the funeral pilgrimage to be timed," said Deputy Governor Riza.
"Yes, there are restrictions in places where there are restrictions, including in cemeteries, we ask that there be restrictions and less," he said.
