Progress Reaches 52 Percent, Palembang Toll Road Structure Will Connect Two Sections In South Sumatra
JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) is building the Betung Structure and rest area Toll Road.
The 10.24 kilometer free road project will later be connected to two sections in South Sumatra (Sumsel), namely the Kayuagung 'Betung Palembang' Toll Road with the Palembang 'Indralaya' Prabumulih Toll Road.
Director of Operations III of HKI Aditya Novendra Jaya assessed that the infrastructure connectivity will accelerate the flow of logistics shipments or daily travel times that can improve the regional economy.
It is known that the infrastructure project until the end of June 2025 recorded construction progress of 52 percent.
The scope of the HKI's work on the project is the construction of ramps 4, 6 and 8 and builds a rest area on the Palembang 'Betung Toll Road, precisely at STA 71+000.
In terms of development, the rest area is categorized as type A with mosque facilities, public toilets, restaurants, workshops and also 10 rooms for UMK.
In addition, the rest area is also designed with a parking capacity that can accommodate as many as 157 small vehicles and 40 large vehicles.
Dalam pembangunan Tol Palembang Bentung Structure ini, kata Novendra, HKI menghadapi tantangan geotechnic cukup complex, mengingat lokasi pembangunan berada pada kawasan ber tanah gambut dan tanah soft.
"To overcome this condition, the HKI conducts special handling through methods of improving the carrying capacity of the land to ensure stability and construction security," he said in a written statement, quoted Friday, July 4.
In the construction of the toll road, HKI also reveged in the environment around the project to maintain the ecosystem.
As for the construction process, the company also applies an optimal analysis method to minimize construction waste as a form of commitment to fulfill environmental principles in environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.
The implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is also implemented in the construction of the Palembang 'Betung Structure Toll Road.

It doesn't stop there, HKI also uses photogration to monitor the progress of the running project using air images obtained from rides such as drones, satellites or digital cameras.
"We hope that the Palembang 'Betung Structure Toll Road can be completed properly in August 2025, in order to provide real social and economic benefits for the people around South Sumatra," he concluded.
