Polda Metro Explains Reasons For Participating In Jokowi's Adjutant In The Case Of Allegations Of Fake Diplomas

Polda Metro Jaya also examined Kompol Syarif Muhammad in handling a case of alleged defamation related to allegations of fake diplomas belonging to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). One of the reasons is because his statement is needed in the deepening process.

Kompol Syarif Muhammad is known to be an aide to Jokowi when he served as the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"There is information needed to deepen the material," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Friday, July 4.

However, it was not clearly conveyed about the examination material or the number of questions raised to Jokowi's aide.

It is only conveyed that the handling of the alleged defamation case will be handled professionally.

Kompol Syarif Muhammad previously agreed that he was also examined as a witness in the alleged defamation case related to allegations of fake diplomas belonging to Jokowi.

"I fulfilled the summons from Polda Metro investigators for giving testimony to the case reported by Mr. Joko Widodo," said Syarif.

However, Syarif was reluctant to reveal the material for the examination and the number of questions raised by investigators during the examination process.

The reason is that the submission of the results of the examination in case handling is the investigator's authority.

"Later, please ask the investigators," said Syarif.

As a reminder, this case stems from an official report submitted directly by President Jokowi to the Polda Metro Jaya. He reported the parties who accused him of using fake diplomas as a form of defamation.

The report refers to a number of articles in the Criminal Code (KUHP), namely Articles 310 and 311 concerning defamation. In addition, investigators also apply Article 27A, Article 32, and Article 35 of the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE).

Jokowi emphasized that this legal step was taken so that the accusations that had been developing could be handled openly and thoroughly.

"Yes, this is actually a minor matter, yes, it is a matter of alleged fake diplomas. But it does need to be brought to the realm of law so that everything is clear and clear," said Jokowi.

Until now, investigators are still clarifying and collecting evidence to follow up on the report legally.
