BMKG Predicts Heavy Thunderstorms In Parts Of Jakarta Area On Friday Afternoon
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts rain accompanied by lightning will hit most of DKI Jakarta on Friday afternoon, June 30, 2025.
This information was conveyed through the official BMKG website on Instagram @infobmkg. This extreme weather is predicted to occur in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta and North Jakarta.
The condition of this thunderstorm is expected to continue until Friday night around 19.00 WIB.
Meanwhile, for the Thousand Islands Regency area, BMKG predicts thick cloudy weather from afternoon until evening.
On Friday morning, most of DKI Jakarta was reported to be thick cloudy, except for the Thousand Islands which experienced light rain.
Entering the afternoon, light rain is predicted to fall in East Jakarta and South Jakarta. Meanwhile, West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and North Jakarta are expected to be cloudy, and the Thousand Islands remain thick.

BMKG also reports that the air temperature in Jakarta is in the range of 23 to 30 degrees Celsius with wind speeds ranging from 1 to 20 kilometers per hour.
