As A KPK Suspect, Former Secretary General Of The MPR Ma'ruf Cahyono Was Prevented From Going Abroad
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the Directorate General of Immigration to prevent Ma'ruf Cahyono as the former Secretary General of the MPR for the 2019-2021 period abroad.
This step was taken after he was named a suspect in receiving gratuities related to procurement within the MPR RI.
"That's right. It has been done to prevent the person concerned from leaving the country," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 3.
The prevention is valid for six months from June 10-10 December. This ban can be extended again for the next six months according to the needs of investigators.
Previously reported, the KPK investigated allegations of receiving gratuities related to procurement in the MPR environment. VOI sources said the figure was former Secretary General of the MPR Ma'ruf Cahyono.
In this case, Ma'ruf was charged with Article 12B of the Anti-Corruption Law. He is suspected of receiving gratuities of up to IDR 17 billion.
However, the amount of money received can still increase. This is because the calculation and search of witnesses are still ongoing.
