Victims Of Shipwreck In The Bali Strait Increase To 5 People

BANYUWANGI - The SAR Operations Post and the Potential for Joint SAR at Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, East Java, noted that the passengers of the Tunu Pratama Jaya Crossing Motor Ship (KMP) that sank in the Bali Strait increased to five people.

Meanwhile, the survivors of the tragedy of the sinking of KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya on the Ketapang Port (Banyuwangi) - Gilimanuk Port (Bali) on Wednesday (2/7) night at 23:35 WIB were 28 people (previously recorded by the joint SAR team of 31 people).

"As of 13:30 WIB, the joint SAR team recorded that five victims died," said Banyuwangi SAR Post Coordinator Wahyu Setia Budi, Thursday, July 3.

Thus, of the 65 passengers including the crew of KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya who drowned, as of Thursday afternoon, 32 passengers were still missing and were being searched by the joint SAR team.

Five victims were found dead, namely Anang Suryono (a resident of Probolinggo), Eko Sastriyo, Elok Rumantini, Cahyani, and Fitri April (a resident of Banyuwangi).

"The five victims who died were found in the waters of the Ferry Sea, Jembrana Regency, Bali. Currently, the bodies of the victims are at the State General Hospital (Bali)," said Wahyu.

KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya, carrying 53 passengers and 12 crew members, sank in the Bali Strait, on Wednesday (2/7) night at around 23.35 WIB.

KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya departed from Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi Regency, at around 22.56 WIB to Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana Regency, Bali.
