Cloudflare Can Block AI Violating Content Access Without Permit

JAKARTA Cloudflare became the first internet infrastructure provider to successfully block Artificial Intelligence (AI) financing. The company can block AI from accessing content illegally.

Before AI appears, the public can access content freely in search engines. However, as technology developments accelerate, AI perayap emerges to collect content. This is certainly detrimental to creators.

By providing the ability to block AI financing by default, creators now have complete control over the content they create. Content creators or content owners don't need to worry about taking unlicensed and compensated data.

Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare, stressed the importance of reinforcing control to publishers. He stated that the issue of content theft needs to be addressed to maintain Internet continuity in the AI era.

"The original content is something that made the Internet one of the greatest discoveries of the century and important for creators to keep creating it. AI financing has eroded content indefinitely. Our goal is to restore power to the hands of creators," Matthew said in a statement, quoted on Thursday, July 3.

By blocking AI financing, Cloudflare wants to help companies continue to innovate. According to Matthew, providing tools that can maintain content quality can keep the 'free and dynamic Internet future' and beneficial to everyone.

Cloudflare technology is able to accurately differentiate between human users and AI perayaps. By September 2024, they have introduced a one-click option to block AI perayaps, which has been selected by more than one million subscribers.

Now, Cloudflare is taking further steps by imposing a permit-based model. AI companies are now required to obtain written permission from websites before making a celebration. This ensures that content access is based on explicit consent.
