Legitimate! DPR Appoints Ricky Perdana Gozali As Deputy Governor Of BI For The 2025-2030 Period

Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani officially appointed Ricky Perdana Gozali as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia replacing Doni P. Joewono whose term of office will end in early August 2025.

This decision was conveyed at the 22nd DPR RI Plenary Meeting of Session IV Year 2024 2025 which was held at the Parliament Complex, Thursday, July 3.

During the meeting, Puan asked the council members whether the DPR RI Commission XI report on the results of the fit and proper test for the BI Deputy Governor candidate could be approved.

"Please ask the honorable council hearing, can the DPR RI Commission XI report on the results of the fit and proper test for the candidate for Deputy Governor of BI be approved? Agree, thank you," he said accompanied by tapping the hammer, Thursday, July 3.

Previously, the Chairman of Commission XI of the DPR RI, Mukhamad Misbakhun, reported that President Prabowo Subianto had sent a letter to the DPR Number R-22/Pres/05/2025 dated May 6, 2025, which contained a proposal for a candidate for Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia.

In the letter, Misbakhun said that President Prabowo proposed two names, namely Ricky Perdana Gozali, who currently serves as Head of the DKI Jakarta BI Representative, and Dicky Kartikoyono, who serves as Head of the Bank Indonesia Payment System Policy Department as a candidate for Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia.

He said that the fit and proper test of the two candidates had been carried out by Commission XI of the DPR RI on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

"Furthermore, the Internal Meeting of Commission XI of the DPR RI on July 2 has decided by consensus and approved Brother Ricky Perdana Gozali as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia for the period 2025-2030," said Misbakhun in a plenary meeting.

Ricky Perdana Gozali Profile

Ricky Perdana Gozali was born in Jakarta in 1970 and completed his undergraduate education in the field of Management at the University of Pancasila in 1992. He then won a Master Management degree from the University of Indonesia in 2011 and his career at Bank Indonesia began in 1995.

Ricky Perdana Gozali is a senior Bank Indonesia official who has occupied a number of important positions in various regions. He has served as Head of BI Representative for South Sumatra, and previously led the BI Representative Office for East Kalimantan.

Then in 2020, Ricky was assigned as Head of Group in the International Department of Bank Indonesia. Previously, from 2018 to 2020, he served as Head of the BI Gorontalo Representative. Finally, as of June 1, 2025, Ricky was appointed as Head of the BI Jakarta Representative, replacing Arlyana Abubakar.
