DPR Approves Feasibility Test For BI Deputy Governor Candidate, Puan Assigns Commission I To Discuss Ambassador Surpres

JAKARTA - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, chaired the 22nd Plenary Meeting of the Fourth Session Period of the 2024-2025 Session Year with the single agenda of the DPR Commission XI report regarding the results of the Feasibility and Proper Test Discussion on the Candidates for Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, followed by decision making.

Today's plenary session is the result of the decision of the consultation meeting to replace the DPR Deliberative Body meeting between the DPR leadership and the Faction-Fraksi leadership on Wednesday, July 2 yesterday.

"Now we will ask the honorable Council Session, can the meeting be approved?" said Puan when opening the plenary meeting, Thursday, July 3.

Before entering the core event of this plenary meeting, Puan informed that the Council Leadership had received a letter from the President of the Republic of Indonesia number R-36/Pres/07/2025, dated July 1, 2025, regarding the Application for Consideration for Candidates for LBBP RI Ambassadors to Friends and International Organizations.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 231 of the DPR RI Regulation Number 1 of 2020 concerning Order, which states that considerations for prospective ambassadors of the Republic of Indonesia to friendly countries are carried out in several stages.

First, the nomination letter for the ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia for friendly countries submitted by the President to the DPR leadership and the DPR leadership immediately notified the nearest DPR plenary meeting without mentioning the names and recipient countries.

The DPR plenary meeting then closed the relevant commission to discuss it in secret. Furthermore, the results of the discussion of the relevant commission were reported to the DPR leadership, and the DPR leadership conveyed the results of the discussion of the relevant commission to the President in secret.

"With that, we ask for approval from the Plenary Meeting today to assign Commission I to discuss the Presidential Letter, can it be approved?" asked Puan.

After obtaining the approval of all the members of the council who attended, Puan then invited the Chairman of Commission XI of the DPR, Mukhamad Misbakhun, to submit the DPR Commission XI Report on the Results of the Feasibility and Proper Test for the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, followed by decision making.

"We respect the Council's trial, now allow us to ask the honorable Council Session, can the Commission XI of the DPR RI Report on the Results of the Feasibility and Proper Test for the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia be approved?" asked Puan followed by the approval of all members of the council who attended and beat the hammer.

Puan then introduced the Candidate for Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Ricky Perdana Gozali, followed by a photo with the DPR leadership.

Puan hopes that the new Deputy Governor of BI can carry out his duties as well as possible. He also invited the Deputy Governor of BI to leave the courtroom, as well as close the plenary meeting today.

"The leadership of the Council congratulates the Candidate for Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, hopefully, they can carry out their duties with responsibility and trust," said Puan.
