RI-Saudi Arabia Calls On International Society To Actively Disaster Gaza And Realize A Palestinian State
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Crown Prince and Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud called on the international community to take an active role in ending the disaster in the Gaza Strip and realizing the Palestinian state.
In a joint statement after a bilateral meeting at the Al-Salam Palace, Jeddah, the two leaders reiterated their determination to continue to provide humanitarian support in the Palestinian enclave, since the latest conflict broke out on October 7, 2023.
Regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip in particular and Palestine in general, the two leaders expect the active participation of the international community.
"The two leaders called on the international community to immediately take practical steps to end the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, emphasizing the need for Israel to adhere to the ceasefire," the two leaders said in a joint statement on Thursday, July 3.
Furthermore, the two leaders also stressed the importance of the role that must be played by the international community in pressuring the Israeli side to comply with international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
Medical sources in the enclave on Wednesday confirmed the death toll from Palestine since the latest conflict broke out on October 7, 2023, had reached 57,012 people, while injuries reached 134,592 people, quoted from WAFA.
In this regard, the two leaders called on the international community to condemn Israeli violations, demanding the international community hold it accountable in accordance with international law, as well as emphasizing fulfilling its obligations.
This meeting was also used by the two leaders to reiterated that security and stability in Palestine could only be realized through the application of international resolutions related to the two-state solution, in a way that ensures the creation of conducive conditions for peaceful coexistence, economic development, and allows the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights.
"Including the establishment of an independent and sovereign state along the 1967 border with East Jerusalem as its capital," the joint statement said.
"Both sides are urging all countries to actively support and participate in these efforts, with the aim of developing practical steps that strengthen international initiatives and peace efforts, which ultimately lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the end of the occupation," the statement said.

It is known that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto made a state visit to Saudi Arabia on July 1-3. This is his first visit to Saudi Arabia since his inauguration in October last year.
The two leaders and delegates of each country discussed increasing bilateral hubs, as well as holding the first meeting of the Saudi-Indonesian Supreme Coordination Council's Highest Coordination Council (DKT), as well as agreeing on the Governance of the DKT which will become the institutional reference framework of the DKT as stated in the Minutes of Meeting signed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
