Removed From Festival In Manchester For Defending Palestine, Bob Vylan: Silence Is Not An Choice
JAKARTA - Musicians continue to echo support for Palestine on various major stages. At Glastonbury some time ago, Bob Vylan had caused a stir because he openly called for a Palestinian defense attitude.
The British duo condemned the IDF for their actions against the Gaza people and their surroundings. They also questioned the British, American and BBC governments that called the persecution in Palestine a conflict, not genocide as the United Nations calls.
"Death, IDF died," they said at Worthy Farm last June 28.
Of course, Bob Vylan's bold action brought consequences. Their attitude invites debate on social media, until their names are crossed out of the RADAR Festival lineup at Manchester.
Previously, the London-based group was scheduled to be one of the headliners at an event held at Victoria Warehouse, Saturday, July 5. Citing the organizer's statement from NME, Bob Vylan was officially dropped three days before the event.
"Bob Vylan will not appear at the RADAR Festival this weekend," they wrote briefly on a social media post.

In response to the deletion, Bob Vylan wrote inspiring words. They remain in principle of defending Palestine from Israel's cruel oppression.
"Shut up is not an option. We will be fine, while the Palestinian people are injured. Manchester, we will come back," they wrote by marking the RADAR Festival account.
Bob Vylan has expressed his support for Palestine at various events. In 2023 they also criticized figures who were afraid to speak up in important forums, including music festivals.
