Febri Diansyah: Those Who Do Not Have A National Perspective Are Corruptors, Not Hunters

JAKARTA - Former spokesman for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Febri Diansyah spoke about the failure of a number of anti-corruption commission employees to become State Civil Servants (ASN), because they failed the assessment of the national insight test.

This anti-corruption activist said that his colleagues at the KPK should no longer need to question their national insight. According to him, it is the corruptors who do not have a national perspective because they exploit the country with their actions.

"Those who do not have national insight are CORRUPTORS, not corruptors hunters," he was quoted as saying on his Twitter @febridiansyah which was quoted on Wednesday, May 5.

Febri emphasized that his colleagues at the KPK have always struggled to fight against corruptors. Moreover, the perpetrators of racial acts have been stealing people's rights.

"This country is being exploited. It is exploited. People's rights are stolen. What kind of national insight do corruptors have?" he asked.

However, the effort seemed insufficient because KPK employees who fought against corruptors were actually eliminated through a test and this was questioned by Febri. "Those who persist in fighting corruption are actually eliminated on the grounds of failing to pass the national wwsan test? Logic," he said.

Furthermore, in a thread he wrote, he said that efforts to get rid of clean KPK employees who are currently struggling to expose corruption scandals are decaying efforts to eradicate corruption. This, continued Febri, was also a result of the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019.

"The KPK seems to have grown with controversy and minimal achievements," he said.

Febri mentioned that there are a number of large cases currently being handled by investigators who are threatened with being fired because they do not pass the assessment of the national insight test. This case includes allegations of bribery for COVID-19 social assistance (bansos), bribes for export permits for fries or lobster seeds at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, to suspected corruption cases in Tanjungbalai.

Not only that, he said that the investigator who was threatened with being fired had also succeeded in arresting the Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament, Setya Novanto, in the e-KTP megacorruption case. It's just that, instead of getting appreciation, they were attacked with the seal of the Taliban and radicals.

"Even more ridiculous, they are stamped by Taliban and radicals. The narrative is also used to attack political opponents and legitimize the process of revising the KPK Law. By the same people and robots," he said.

Unfortunately, although this issue has been repeatedly denied, there are still many people who are trapped and support the revision of the KPK Law. So, Febri asked all parties to see the consequences of the revision of the law.

"Now look, how is the condition of the KPK after the revision and the performance of the KPK from the controversial KPK leadership election process," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK is working with the State Personnel Agency (BKN) to conduct an assessment of national insight for its employees. It's just that recently it was reported that a number of employees did not qualify so they were said to be fired. One of the rumors was Novel Baswedan's senior investigator.

Responding to this, KPK Secretary General Cahya H. Harefa said the results of the employee assessment were still sealed. The plan is to announce the results of this assessment in the near future as a form of transparency.

Furthermore, Cahya explained that the assessment of 1,349 KPK employees had been received by his party since 27 April. Thousands of these employees participated in the assessment which is a requirement for the transfer of employee status as stipulated in Commission Regulation Number 1 of 2021 concerning Procedures for the Transfer of KPK Employees to ASN.

In addition, as a KPK institution, it must indeed transfer the status of employees because it is in accordance with the mandate of the revised KPK law.
