The Ministry Of Transportation Is About The Reason For Conducting The Study Of The Increase In Ojol Tariffs: It's Been Three Years Since It Has Not Increased
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) revealed the reason for conducting a study on the increase in online motorcycle taxi rates (ojol). One of them is because the ojol tariff has not increased in the last three years.
The Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, said that the study on the increase in ojol rates was a proposal that came from the association of driver-partners. Moreover, the ojol rate has not increased by three.
"Because it has not increased for 3 years, we will also study it. Because there is also a sequence, yes, this tariff. There is a request from friends that the tariff must be adjusted," he said at the Ministry of Transportation, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 2.
Aan revealed that the Ministry of Transportation itself had actually conducted a study on the increase in ojol tariffs, when there was an increase in the price of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM).
But unfortunately, continued Aan, the study on the increase in ojol rates was not continued, due to many considerations.
"This has also been studied before, when there was an increase in fuel, if I'm not mistaken, it has been studied. But after we discussed with friends from Ojek Online, from partners, this, the study we made, cannot be carried out yet," he explained.
Aan explained that the ojol tariff study is one-unity of the cost of cutting services charged to the driver. According to Aan, this study is routinely carried out by the Ministry of Transportation.

"So this routine is like that, then, not in demand. This means that this is one-sature, the tariff structure is one-sature, there is a basic tariff, the calculation of the basic withdrawal, later there will be a cut, that's the one-sature structure," said Aan.
After the study is complete, continued Aan, the Ministry of Transportation will see the future impact from an economic perspective. Especially, regarding whether the increase in ojol rates raises inflation.
"That's from the economic side of us, right. How will it be implemented later, it will result in inflation or not, so we consider all perspectives," he explained
"This means that this year is also like that, we only present, what will the results of the study be, before deciding, later there will be a kind of harmonization, there are considerations," he continued.
